We want the HELLO Community to be a place where everyone feels respected, supported, and safe. That only works if we all do our part.
This page outlines what we expect from you when you use our site. Please read these guidelines carefullyโwe take them seriously, and we expect you to do the same.
Copyright and Ownership
You are responsible for everything done under your account, including all content you post.
- If you post content created by someone else, it is your responsibility to ensure you have permission from all relevant rights holders.
- Anyone who uploads another personโs content without the necessary permissions may have that content removed and may have their account restricted or terminated.
For more details, see our Copyright and Content Licensing section in the site policies.
Respect and Conduct
HELLO is an open, social platform made up of a diverse group of people with different views, experiences, and cultural backgrounds. We support freedom of expression and the right to share ideasโeven challenging onesโbut we expect everyone to treat each other with respect.
Do not bully or harass
We have zero tolerance for abusive, harassing, or threatening behavior.
Abuse includes (but is not limited to) any activity intended to:
- Attack, demean, or intimidate another person
- Threaten or incite harm
Anyone found to be engaging in this type of behavior may have their account immediately and permanently terminated.
Criticize constructively
Critique can be valuableโmany of us are here to learn and improve. But behind every post is a person.
- Focus your criticism on ideas and content, not on the person who created it.
- Share your opinions in a constructive, professional manner.
- Before posting feedback, ask yourself: Would I be comfortable receiving this message? If not, rewrite itโor donโt post it.
Respect othersโ privacy
Everyone has a right to privacy.
Do not share another personโs private details without their explicit permission. This includes:
- Personal photographs
- Unlisted phone numbers
- Home or email addresses
- Other personally identifying information
Impersonation and Misrepresentation
You must not pose as someone you are not.
- Do not impersonate another person, institution, or organization.
- Do not use someone elseโs name, logo, or trademark without permission.
- Do not suggest you are officially associated with someone or something if you are not.
As a rule of thumb: if your profile or content could reasonably make others think you are someone else or represent an institution you do not actually represent, itโs not allowed.
Forbidden Content
We believe in open discussion and freedom of expression, but some types of content have no place on HELLO. To protect the community and keep the environment professional and constructive, do not post:
Pornographic or sexual content
- Content that is predominantly sexual in nature
- Images containing nudity intended for sexual gratification
- Recordings or detailed descriptions of sexual acts
There are plenty of other places on the internet for that kind of material; HELLO is not one of them.
Hate speech
You may share opinions and beliefs, even if they are controversial or challenge the status quo. However, we will not tolerate content that promotes or encourages hatred, discrimination, or violence based on:
- Race, ethnicity, or cultural identity
- Religion or beliefs
- Disability or health status
- Gender or gender identity
- Sexual orientation
- Any other protected characteristic
Spam and Prohibited Services
We want HELLO to remain as free from spam and manipulation as possible.
The following activities are not permitted:
- Posting unsolicited commercial links or โlink dropsโ where the primary purpose is to drive traffic to external sites.
- Creating multiple accounts to artificially inflate the popularity of other profiles or content.
- Using, creating, or promoting:
- Bots or other automated tools to perform โsocialโ actions (e.g., following, liking, commenting).
- Services that claim to boost popularity, visibility, followers, likes, or similar metrics.
- Services that sell social interactions, endorsements, or other forms of artificial promotion on HELLO.
If You See a Problem: Reporting and Blocking
You may occasionally come across content you disagree with or simply donโt like. In many cases, the best approach is to ignore it and, where tools are provided, block the member so you donโt see their content in the future.
However, if you encounter content or behavior that clearly violates these guidelines or our Terms of Useโfor example:
- Impersonation
- Abuse, bullying, or threats
- Pornographic material
- Hate speech or malicious content
โฆplease report it to us using the appropriate tools (e.g., support forums, the contact form, or other reporting mechanisms if available).
A few important notes:
- What you find unacceptable may not be unacceptable to everyone.
- We aim to take a fair and balanced approach.
- Reporting content does not automatically mean it will be removed. If it does not actually violate our rules, it may remain.
If You Break the Rules
If we receive a copyright complaint regarding your content or determine that your activity violates these guidelines or our Terms of Use, we may:
- Remove or restrict access to the content in question.
- Issue you a written warning explaining the issue.
If we have to send you more than two warnings, we may terminate your account.
In the most serious casesโsuch as explicit threats, clear harassment, severe hate speech, or egregious violationsโwe reserve the right to terminate your account immediately, without prior warning.
In Summary
- Be considerate of others.
- Respect the law and the rights of others.
- Think carefully about these guidelines before you post or interact.
We aim to make fair, objective decisions when content is reported. In most cases, youโll receive a warning before we take stronger actionโbut HELLO must remain a safe, respectful professional community. If you find these expectations unreasonable, HELLO may not be the right platform for you.
Updates to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our services, laws, or community needs. Please revisit this page periodically to stay up to date on the current expectations and rules.
