There are many resources out there to help faculty members and instructional designers to increase students’ access to content, sense of control and choice in interactions, and level of engagement with each other, instructors, and the wider world. In this virtual roundtable conversation, we’ll explore how the tenets of universal design for learning (UDL) can help teaching and learning center leaders to expand faculty access, participation rates, and practice adoption of our own educational development programming. Come to this interactive conversation to share good practices and learn from your colleagues about what works—and learn more about the neuroscience of why UDL is such a powerful framework for all kinds of learners, including our faculty colleagues.
The 2019 INFD encompasses the history of the field of educational development in higher education with a focus on our inclusive future. Participants will attend sessions on Emerging Inclusive Practice, Emerging Technology, Emerging Best Practices, and “How To” for practical application. Each session is geared at building skills in educational development from consulting to event planning and beyond.

To lead, support, and inspire meaningful change within our institutions, learning environments, and in our profession, it is essential that we build and foster connections—between faculty, students of all levels, administrators, programs, institutions, the wider higher ed community, and evolving educational tools such as technologies and social media. Effective teaching and learning requires evidence-based intentionality, but within a network of strong relationships.
In 2016, ePortfolios were added to AAC&U’s list of high-impact educational practices, a result of the breadth and strength of the evidence in support of the effects of ePortfolios along a number of student success metrics. However, ePortfolios can only have high levels of impact when they are done well and are built upon evidence-based practices. This webinar, a collaboration between AAC&U, the Association of Authentic, Experiential, and Evidence-Based Learning (AAEEBL), and Electronic Portfolio Action & Communication (EPAC), will highlight key findings and offer guidance for ePortfolio practice from the Spring 2019 issue of the International Journal of ePortfolio.
